Grant-making
aims
The general
aims of Trustees
are seek to cover a wide spectrum of activities so as to benefit as many
charitable causes as possible and to make donations to organisations
where its contribution really can be seen to make a difference. The
Trust does not wish to be the principal funder of a charity. As
such medium sized bodies are more likely to receive grants than
either very small charities or well known large national ones.
However the
resources of the Trust are limited and inevitably there are many
more good causes that it can possibly fund. Almost all the
available funds are allocated pro-actively by the Trustees. We
are keen that applicants do not waste both their own and our limited
resources in applications which have little chance of success, and
therefore please DO NOT apply to The Trust. Currently
The Trust has no free funds.
Funds
available and size of grants
The Trust
anticipates the annual investment income available for grant making
for the next few years will be around £1,000,000. However the Trust
has given and intends to continue to give annual support to a number
of charities for most of these funds and through its contacts
pro-actively seek projects in which it is interested.
Unsolicited applications will not be considered.
Who
receives our donations ?
The Trust only
gives UK registered
charities and other official charitable organisations which benefit
society nationally or locally in Scotland or Wiltshire.
Charitable categories
Grants are
categorised under the following headings:
The allocation
between these headings varies from year to year. In the current
year (2006/07) the specific interests are:
